Waratah thoroughbreds is now entering a phase of development in the southern highlands with the upgrading of Bong Bong farm as an agistment facility for their blood stock. The development is seen as being complimentary to the worlds best practice internationally.

Ladd Hudson Equine Architects have been engaged to assist in the design and re-establishment of this property as a premier thoroughbred horse agistment farm in keeping with the historic character of the region, in particular to reinforce the ongoing cultural landscape of the Southern Highlands in respect to farm land development.

In addition to the provision of high standard horse agistment facilities, the plan includes the following main features:

• Construction of world class thoroughbred stables
• Upgrading and beautification of the farm and its environment.
• Construction of arrivals and services core buildings
• Major environmental and equine landscaping programme for general screening featuring laneway equine planting, wind protection planting and erosion control.
• Additional landscape to frame views, screen and provide cognitive mapping for equine flow patterns
• Upgrading of onsite staff accommodation.
• Upgrading of all existing roads and provision for the orderly arrival and unloading of horses
